Everyone who controls or processes data knows: GDPR is coming! GDPR is the European Union General Data Protection Regulation and is designed to harmonize data privacy laws across Europe, to protect and empower all EU citizens’ data privacy and to reshape the way organizations across the region approach data privacy.
Enforcement date: 25 May 2018 - at which time those organizations in non-compliance may face heavy fines. Under GDPR organizations in breach of GDPR can be fined up to 4% of their annual global turnover or €20 Million (whichever is greater). This is the maximum fine that can be imposed for the most serious infringements. Is there a reason to panic? Absolutely not!
At NORRIQ, we are not aiming to be a GDPR-evangelist. As your data processor, we are committed to our responsibility. We, as processor, we see it as our duty to inform you, as controller, about GDPR and the role of NORRIQ regarding this obligatory regulation. Good preparation will set you on the right track. At NORRIQ we have taken the necessary actions to assist you. Are you ready?
