The task was to develop a new responsive design by NORRIQ, with the goal of an optimal search engine optimization, integration of inventory management and enormous speed improvement.

Illums Bolighus has a webshop that is better than some of the largest e-commerce solutions in the Scandinavian region. The test showed that illumsbolighus.dk was up to 15 times faster than competing Danish and Scandinavian web stores on the B2C market.

Taking into account the amount of live data flows between the direct integration in Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Business Central and the webshop, something very unique has been done during development.

Before Illums Bolighus started the collaboration with NORRIQ, the biggest challenges regarding the speed of the webshop were the many users - especially when it comes to campaigns such as shopping evenings and Black Friday. That is why it was crucial for Illums Bolighus that the new solution is able to handle the pressure without having purchase queuing systems. The speed should be at the top regardless of the pressure the servers were exposed to.

The shopping evenings caused great peak times, as a result too many users surfed the webshop. Users experienced interruptions while shopping and paying. Thanks to the new system, new commercial opportunities were created to send more traffic via the webshop and thus increase sales considerably without waiting times. After the new solution was launched, the Illum Bolighus shopping evenings could be run without queue systems or the crashes - resulting in a 45% higher revenue.

Fastest and best performing B2C webshop on the DynamicWeb platform

Because of the launch of the new Illums Bolighu webshop, a test was done with DynamicWeb, where it was determined that Illums Bolighus is the fastest webshop on a DynamicWeb solution so far.
